ECOTOX POLE Valence, France

General presentation

Background

The Scientific Center’s ambition is to help developing environmental toxicology and ecotoxicology.

The project uses a Large Scale Facility approach, which makes it possible to carry out tasks that would not be possible at the lab level, mainly because of a too large Space and Time Scale.

Experimental halls:

  • Highly safe and secure areas, allowing environmental control and high biosafety levels (space confinement and treatment / decontamination / neutralization of liquid and solid effluents)
  • Areas with controlled working conditions and modes, and very limited interaction with the immediate environment (no/ low exposure/ solar effects/ hydrothermal/ biological and chemical pollution)
  • Versatile, highly adaptable areas, standardized, ergonomically designed spaces best fitted for experimental devices
  • Unmarked areas:
  • Spaces organized by scientific discipline: biology, microbiology / bacteriology, chemistry / biochemistry, Molecular biology, radioelements, nanoparticles … laundry, storage
  • Spaces technically and functionally fitted for scientific activity
