General presentation

Background

As part of the major restructuring project of the Part-Dieu district, in Lyon, the program will complete the offering of this changing sector, by proposing housing in accession to the property and for young workers, businesses, a Diocesan Center, as well as parking spaces on two levels.

Our response

Various feasibility studies and hypotheses had been carried out by the AUC agency, responsible for the overall restoration of the neighborhood. We kept the guiding principle, namely the height and track since this site is on a limited space, along the railway. Despite its various functions, the building was thought of as a whole in order to be enjoyable for residents and users, and coherent in its urban environment.

Architectural Mission

We worked with Itar, a tower specialist, to envision the two housing developments, one of which is 50 m in height. These blocks rest on an active base housing the Diocesan Center. This spiritual place of meditation harmoniously coexists with the public and commercial functions of the attractive ground floor.
