Résidence des Pins Beirut, Lebanon

General presentation

Background

Heavily damaged by years of war, the residence of the Ambassadeurs de France in Lebanon required a significant restoration and restructuring. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a competition to modernize this complex while respecting its original architecture.

Our response

We devised a precise and careful intervention for a most faithful reconstitution: on the outside, partial disassembly of the facade, stone by stone, then reassembly from the original elements or stones from Lebanese quarries to replace the most damaged. On the inside, on the ground floor, reconstitution of castings, woodwork, millwork and decors identical after drawing and analysis. For private sections of the first floor, complete redistribution of converted volumes in a contemporary and functional manner.
