Medipole Villeurbanne, France
General presentation
Background
Along its outer limits, a 5-hectare lot, the former industrial site of ABB, is intended to accommodate the most important private clinic in France. The Capio health group and Resamut healthcare organization are the clients of this project, which is a grouping of six clinics in the metropolis and also part of the rezoning of the Grand-Clément district.
Our response
We brought our expertise to the health sector by respecting the issues specific to this major project, namely, to provide solutions adapted to each client in a single complex and thinking about the insertion of this building in a transforming neighborhood. On the healthcare side, this “cruise ship” of 170 m long by 80 m wide will provide 708 beds and areas. It will offer all medical services, surgery, complete obstetrics and a significant area for outpatient care. On the urban side, the hotel appearance of this “hospital of tomorrow” integrates into the residential environment.
Architectural Mission
If it is a single imposing complex, the residential architecture, caesurae, walkways, transparency effects and coverings representative of roofs break the classic image of hospitals. Focusing on the activity on the ground floor, the equipment is intended to be user-friendly, in addition to six spacious patios, a large central pathway and the warm design of the rooms and meeting spaces promote the well-being of patients as well as professionals and visitors.
Engineering Mission
Our mission focuses on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). One building is dedicated to technology.
